Walden on Wheels: Book Review

I enjoyed reading this book and happened to finish it over a couple days at the beginning on this month.

Ken, the author, has accumulated $32,000 in student loan debt and sets out on a mission to pay it off as quickly as possible so he can be free. Ken’s outlook on debt was refreshing – he viewed it as a ball and chain and something to be paid back ASAP in contrast to the typical consumer who just tries for the smallest monthly payment possible (paying gobs of interest over many years as a result). He speaks of a call to Alaska and ultimate ends up finding a sort of second home up there while working to pay off his debt.

It was a well written story line about a young mans adventure early in life as well as a good reminder that material things are not what life is about. We can be happy with so little.
